Srinagar: The Indian army said on Tuesday that four pro-freedom guerrillas were killed and one was apprehended in a gunfight in Nowgam sector of the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir state of India.
Defence sources said the fighting took place in the northern district of Kupwara.
‘The operation against the terrorists is still on,’ an officer said. ‘The group of terrorists had most likely infiltrated into the Indian side from Pakistan recently.’
Kashmiris are struggling for self-control and freedom since 1947.
