Officials say a shooting at a suburban Seattle home has left three people dead and another person hurt, and that a suspect is in custody.

The city of Mukilteo said on its Twitter feed early Saturday that there were three fatalities in the Chennault neighborhood. It said the injured person was transported to Harborview Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The city tweeted that a suspect has been apprehended in Lewis County.

Officials said 15-20 people were present when the shooting happened during a gathering at the home in Chennault.

Police did not immediately release additional details about the shooting or the suspect.

The city says a reunification centre has been established at a local church for parents and relatives.
