Indian province West Bengal is likely to be renamed ‘Bangla’ or ‘Banga’ as the cabinet of the province has approved the proposal to change the name. In English it will be ‘Bengal’.

Quoting West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, Anandabazar said the proposal to change the name has been approved in the cabinet. The issue will be discussed at all party conference. Then, the proposal will be placed on the provincial parliament. If the proposal is approved there, it will be sent to federal parliament.
