Angela Merkel — the Syrian baby named after the German chancellor — who was born in Germany after her parents arrived in that country pretending to be refugees, has been denied ‘full asylum.’

The family has been denied ‘full asylum’ because they passed through a safe third country—Turkey—on their way to Germany, reports The New Observer.

‘Mamon al-Hamza (Mamon Al-Hamza), his wife and daughter Theme Angela Merkel on arrival from Syria lived in the city of mönchengladbach (North Rhine-Westphalia) is waiting for permission to stay in the country legally. However, over the next year, the family will be forced to leave Germany and the EU’, reports Daily Mail.

According to the information in the notice with the refusal of asylum, parents little of Angela Merkel invited to return to Turkey as the first country that provided them safety.

The family of al-Hamza arrived in the EU in 2015. Their daughter was born in the German city of Duisburg. It decided to name in honour of the Chancellor as a tribute to the immigration policy of ‘open doors’ pursued by Merkel against refugees from war zones in the Arab countries.

In 2015, Germany profits more than 1.1 million migrants from the countries of North Africa and the Middle East. Over 17 thousand asylum seekers in 2016 filed in court the German government. The reason for such a large number of claims was the refusal of Germany to grant migrants full-fledged refugee status.
