Trump says he will leave businesses before Jan 20
The United States President-elect Donald Trump tweets he will be leaving his businesses before January 20 to focus full time on the presidency, his sons Don and Eric to manage his business empire.
He twitted, ‘Even though I am not mandated by law to do so, I will be leaving my busineses [businesses] before January 20th so that I can focus full time on the Presidency.’
‘Two of my children, Don and Eric, plus executives, will manage them. No new deals will be done during my term(s) in office,’ he added.
Trump had been scheduled to hold a news conference this week on the future of his business empire, but it was postponed until next month. Sean Spicer, a Trump transition team spokesman, said the legal team needs more time to work out the plan for the Trump Organisation.
Trump is promising to hold ‘a press conference in the near future to discuss the business, Cabinet picks and all other topics of interest. Busy times!’
