Dhaka: On the seventh day of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair publishers reported that they were happy with the sales.  

So far the number of books that had reached the fair was 692. Of them poetry led the categories with 159 followed by novels that accounted for 127 and short stories 115.

On Sunday, the number of new books entering the market stood at 118.

Apart from books a book launching ceremony of collected writings about Historian Salauddin Ahmed was launched. The book is a collection of lectures during the author's life-time but could not be published then.  

On the main platform of the fair a discussion on Bangla Academy's translation services was held with Professor Emeritus Sirajul Islam Chowdhury in the chair.
