Dhaka: Bangla Academy announced ‘Bangla Academy Gunijan Smriti Puraskar 2016’ on Saturday where eight publishing houses were awarded under four categories.

‘Munier Chowdhury Smriti Puraskar’ got three publications. Bengal Publications Limited for ‘Jibananda Daser Mulanug Path’ edited by Bhumnedro Ghuh, Nymphea Publications got the award for publishing ‘Buddhist Heritage of Bangladesh’ edited by Bulbul Ahmed, and Pathsutra for publishing ‘Ami Ekti Bajpakhike Hatya Korte Cheyechhilam’ written by Taslima Moon.

Mawla Brothers got ‘Chittaranjan Saha Smriti Puraskar’ for the publication of the good number of quality books. ‘Rokonuzzaman Khan Dadabhai Smriti Puraskar’ was awarded to Mayurpankhi publications for quality books for children in 2015.

Somoy Prokashan, Madhyma and Journeyman publications got the ‘Qaiyyum Chowdhury Smriti Puraskar 2016’ for best interior design in their stall.

Awards will be handed over on 29 February of the final day of Ekushey Book fair at 4:00pm.
