Dhaka: British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert W Gibson visited Online School Teachers Center at Rayerbazar in the city on Thursday.

The British envoy has shown keen interest to the concept of Online School and talked to the students in remote schools from the teachers’ centre.  

Officials of Grameenphone and JAAGO Foundation were present on the occasion.

Online School is a digital education system which enables teachers from the urban centres to dispense education to the students of remote areas through videoconferencing.

Currently, there are 10 online schools situated in different locations of the country, educating about 700 students free of cost.
