Dhaka: A housewife, who sustained burns in an acid attack allegedly by her husband in Ashulia on the outskirt of the capital, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early on Sunday, says local media.

The deceased 24-years-old Majeda Begum is wife of Sohag Miah, a resident of Baipail area in Ashulia.

Majeda, who was undergoing treatment at the DMCH burn unit with 25 per cent burn injures, succumbed to the injuries at about 3:00am, DMCH officials said.

Earlier On 25 October, Sohag allegedly hurled acid on Majeda over a family feud, causing serious burn injuries to her body.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue for an autopsy, said hospital sources.
