Dhaka: Two people were killed and another was injured in a road accident in the city’s Matawail area on Sunday night, said a UNB report.

One of the deceased was identified as Chandi, 3, daughter of Sujon in Rayerbagh area of the city while her mother Rupali, 30, was injured.

Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said the accident took place around 7:30pm as a covered van hit them while crossing a road in front of Ma O Shishu Hospital in Matawail area, leaving them injured.

They were taken to the DMCH where doctors declared Chandi dead around 8:15pm while another unidentified woman, aged around 50, was declared dead around 8:30pm.
