Woman found senseless in residential hotel dies
Dhaka: A young girl, who was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a senseless condition after being rescued from a residential hotel, was declared dead on Thursday morning.
The victim was identified as Mithila, 22.
Mithila was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after her condition deteriorated.
However, doctors declared her dead at about 7:30am today, said sub-inspector Bachchu, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
He said the girl and a youth, Ashraf, checked in the residential hotel in the city's Shyamoli area on July 8 introducing them as couple.
It was suspected that Ashraf tried to strangle Mithila which left her unconscious.
Later, a team of Mohammadpur Police Station rescued her and took her to the DMCH, the SI said, adding that further details about the girl could not be known in the last 12 days.
