Dhaka: Wasfia Nazreen, Bangladesh's only seven summiteers mountaineer, has reached the summit of Pico de Orizaba, the highest peak in Mexico and the highest volcano in North America.

Wasfia, a brand ambassador of mobile phone network Grameenphone, reached the summit along with her friend Juan Mendoza through its northern route on August 24.

Pico de Orizaba is the third highest peak in North America after Denali (also climbed by Wasfia as the first Bangladeshi) and Mount Logan. The volcano is also known as Citlaltépetl in Nahuatl language of the Aztecs, which means "Star Mountain.

Grameenphone's deputy CEO and CMO Yasir Azman the organisation believes in great achievements beyond the ordinary.
