9 Rohingyas held in Jessore

Jessore: Police in a drive arrested nine members of a Rohingya family from Manihar Bus Stand area in the district town here on Wednesday.
The arrestees are Tafur Alam, about 40 years old, his wife Murshida Begum, about 30 years old, their daughter Yeasmin, about 9 years old, their three sons - Riazul Islam, about 7 years old, Saiful Islam, about 3 years old, and nine-month-old boy Shahidul Islam, their niece Jannat, about 20 years old, and Jannat’s nine-month-old son Hamid.
All of them were residents of Panigajiri area in Rakhaine state of Myanmar.
Azmal Huda, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said suspecting movement of some people in the bus stand area, police challenged them and after interrogation police came to know that they are Rohingyas.
Later, police arrested them and took to Kotwali Police Station.
The arrestees entered Bandarban through Myanmar border amid persecution in Myanmar.
Some people boarded them on a Jessore-bound bus in exchange of some money, claimed the arrestees.
