500 solar street lights, 2000 home system panels allocated for Rohingyas

Dhaka: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said the government has allocated 500 solar power driven street lights and 2,000 home system panel for 12 Rohingya camps.

The Minister came up with the information while talking to reporters after receiving relief materials from different organisation at a hotel in Cox's Bazar.

‘The Rohingya influx is still continuing and our government is cautious about infiltration of miscreants, illegal entrance of arms and drugs with the Rohingya influx,’ he said.

‘The Myanmar government has created the crisis and it is their duty to take initiative to take them back to their homeland with respect,’ he added.

Abdul Matin Khasru Mp, Saimum Sarwar Kamal MP, Ashiqur Rahman Chowdhury MP, Advocate Sirajul Mostafa and local Awami League leaders were, among others, present.
