FF’s children form human chain to maintain quota system
Dhaka: The children of freedom fighters on Friday protested the anti-quota movement of job-seekers saying that those who are demanding reformation of quota system are against the ideology of the Liberation War.
Amra Muktijoddhar Santan, a platform of freedom fighters’ children, organised the human chain in front of the National Press Club.
President of the ogranisation Mohammad Sazzad Hossain demanded that the quota should be enforced from the preliminary test of the Bangladesh Civil service (BCS) examination and the vacant posts under quota which could not be filled up for lack of eligible candidates from 1972 to 2018 have to be filled up by this year.
He expressed his dissatisfaction on over the announcement of Public Administration Ministry for filling up the vacant quota posts form merit list saying that it is a complete disrespect to the freedom fighters and their families.
He also demanded a special job circular and recruitment system for the childrens of freedom fighters.
Many others including Imu Hamid, an assistant professor of Chittagong University, Avijit Sarkar, General Secretary of the organisation’s Dhaka University wing, Nazma Aktar, organising secretary addressed the programme.
