Chittagong: Police held two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from the Chittagong University (CU) on Thursday.

The two BCL activists were held in connection with a series of clashes that have taken place on the campus over the last few days.

Md Salauddin, inspector (investigation) of Hathazari Police Station, confirmed that they detained Imran, a student of English Department, and Rakib, a student of History Department, from the campus on Thursday noon.

Imran and Rakib are followers of the president of recently suspended BCL committee of CU.

The CU unit BCL committee was suspended following the clashes between the followers of its president and secretary.
