Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday said Bhola will be established as a role model through industrial development.

"Bhola will be a model town for other countries through industrial development. Bhola would be a gas-based industrial zone and an updated port will also be established here," he said.

He said this as the chief guest at a workshop titled, "Light Engineering and Automobile Industrial Town" organized by Board of Investment of Bangladesh at District Shilpakala Academy auditorium.

Deputy minister at Ministry of Environment and Forest Abdullah Al Islam Jakob, FBCCI president Kazi Akram Hossain, BGMEA president Atiqul Islam, Daily Samakal editor Golam Sarowar also spoke among others with executive chairman of Investment of Bangladesh Dr Syed Abdus Samad in the chair.
