14 injured in clash over land dispute in Jhenaidah

Jhenaidah: Fourteen people, including women, were injured in a clash between freedom fighters and illegal occupants over a land dispute at Chougacha bus stop of the Maheshpur upazila on Friday noon.
The land, located near Chougacha bus stop was said to be donated by its owner to the Maheshpur upazila command of Muktijoddha Sangsad, reports UNB.
Confirming the incident, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Ashraful Alam said the illegal occupants pelted stones and attacked a group of freedom fighters with sticks when the latter went to reclaim the land at about 1:00pm.
Aminur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Maheshpur Police Station, said 14 people, including women, from both side were wounded in the incident.
The injured received treatments at the Upazila Health complex.
