BGB to provide free education to ‘kids with special needs’
Dhaka: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed on Sunday said ‘children with special needs’ of the members of the paramilitary force will be provided education at its educational institutions free of cost.
He came up with the announcement while speaking at a discussion programme, marking the World Autism Awareness Day-2016.
The paramilitary force arranged the programme at its Pilkhana Headquarters to create awareness among its officials and members about autism, reports UNB.
Aziz also said all necessary steps will be taken for ensuring the welfare of the children with special needs alongside ensuring free education for them.
Chief patron of Simantay Paribar Kalyan Samity and also the wife of BGB DG, Begum Dilshad Nahar Aziz, was present at the programme as the chief guest.
Additional director (Health) of BGB Headquarters Brig Gen Md Toufiqul Hasan Siddiqi, child specialist Lt Col Ismat Ara Begum and psychiatrist Nayeema Islam (Chayan), among others, took part in the discussion.
The speakers said family members, relatives and the members of the society must show positive attitudes towards such children.
