Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday greeted war-wounded freedom fighters (FFs) of the country marking the Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year, 1423.

On the occasion, Sheikh Hasina sent flowers, fruits and sweetmeats to them as a mark of her good wishes for them.

PM’s Assistant Private Secretary (APS)-1 Jahangir Alam, APS-2 Saifuzzaman Shikhar and Protocol Officer Khurshid-ul-Alam handed over these items to the war-wounded freedom fighters at Muktijoddha Punarbashan Kendra at Mohammadpur in the capital in the morning, reported UNB.

The freedom fighters thanked the Prime Minister and expressed gratitude to her for remembering them on every occasion like Independence Day, Victory Day, Eids and Pahela Baishakh.

They also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for constructing a multi-storey residential cum commercial building at Mohammadpur for their rehabilitation.

Nearly 80 families of the war-wounded freedom fighters have been residing in the building.
