RMG workers clash with owners, 15 hurt
Savar: At least 15 workers were injured in a clash between RMG workers and owners of factories in East Rajashan area of Savar on Sunday morning.
The injured were taken to local health complexes.
The Industrial police said workers of Vision Garments demanded holiday for Sunday. They hurled stone at the factory as the garment management denied to approve any vacation.
At one stage, workers of neighbouring 10 factories including Hipoid, Azim Group, Pakija garment factory went berserk and vandalised the factories on Savar-Birulia Highway.
However, 15 workers were injured as the owner’s side chased them.
The Industrial police 1 director Mostafizur Rahman said general holiday has been declared for Sunday in 10 factories following the incident.
An additional member of police has also been deployed in front of the factories to avoid further incidents, said the police.
