BD Embassy in Maldives opens 24-hr Helpline
Dhaka: Bangladesh Embassy in Male, the Maldives has opened a 24-hour Helpline for Bangladesh expatriates living in the country.
The number of the Helpline is +9603320859, according to a media note of the Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, Bangladesh High Commission to the Maldives urged the Bangladesh community there to remain calm and be cautious after two Bangladeshis were killed few days ago.
Bangladesh High Commission in Male immediately took up the matter with the concerned authorities of the Maldives.
Bangladesh high commissioner in Male Rear Admiral Kazi Sarwar Hossain had a meeting with Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen regarding this who directed the Home Minister to step up security.
The high commissioner had a detailed discussion with the Bangladesh community on 25 March briefing them on the situation and requesting them to remain calm and be cautious.
