Savar: Agitated workers of a readymade garment factory in Savar on Thursday morning demonstrated demanding due salaries and festival bonus of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Workers of Jalal Ahmed Knit Composite Limited in Savar’s Dogormora area on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway joined the demonstration.

Some of the workers said nearly 200 workers entered into the factory and stopped the production demanding the arrears of May and festival bonus. The workers tried to block the Dhaka-Aricha Highway but industrial police drove them away.

Industrial Police 1 Inspector Harunur Rashid said we have already talked to the garment owners to pay the dues and bonuses of the workers.
