Remove posters, banners, archways, wall writings by 22 Aug: HC
Dhaka: The High Court on Thursday ordered the two city corporations of the capital to remove all the unauthorised posters, banners, archways, and wipe out all writings on walls by 22 August.
An HC bench of Justice Rezaul Haque and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarker gave the order responding to an appeal by Bangladesh Environment Lawyers’ Association (BELA).
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have been asked to implement the order through executive magistrates.
Earlier on 18 March 2012, BELA filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking removal of unauthorised posters, banners and archways.
During a hearing on the petition on 14 July last, advocate Minhazul Haque of BELA sought an HC order for removing the posters, banners and archways from the capital.
