Home Minister for more cultural activities in educational institutions
Dhaka: Cultural activity in schools, colleges and universities should be increased to root out militancy from the country, says Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
The minister came up with the remark while addressing the Anti-Militancy Education Convention arranged by Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers Association at National Museum’s auditorium in Shahbagh area of Dhaka, reports UNB.
As most of the militants are young and students, educational institutions should increase cultural activity to create disdain among the students about militancy, Khan added.
He also urged the Islamic scholars of the country to preach the Muslims against militancy.
Appreciating the moves of the law enforcement agencies, the minister said the law enforcers have been fighting against militancy along with the common people.
The members of ‘imaginary’ Islamic State (IS) have been washing the brains of the young generation of the country, he said.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman, Dhaka University Vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique were also present at the convention.
