Benapole: A college student died from snakebite at Alisa village in Chowgacha upazila of Jessore on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Hasanuzzaman Hasan, 18, son of late Jahangir Hossain of Hajrakhana village of the upazila.

Locals said a venomous snake bit Hasan, a first year bachelor student at Jessore Government City College, while he was sitting beside Puropara-Kamlapur road in the area at night.

He was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at about 11:00pm.
