Bagerhat: A young man was stabbed to death by some young men as he protested eve teasing of his sister by them at Shaltala in Bagerhat town on Friday night.

Another young man was also injured in the incident.

The deceased was Sohel Hawladar, son of Abdul Aziz of Gobardia in the upazila.

Bagerhat Model Police sub-inspector Imam Uddin said Sohel had an altercation with 3-4 young men as they made an indecent approach to his sister at a fair organised for celebrating Pahela Baishakh at the Zila Parishad auditorium at about 8:00pm on Friday.

At one stage, the young men stabbed Sohel and his friend while they were roaming at the fair venue at about 10:00pm, leaving them critically injured.

They were rushed to sadar hospital.

Later Sohel died while being shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

None was arrested in this connection.
