Dhaka: Queen M xima of the Netherlands highly praised the role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in driving the effective initiatives in Bangaldesh towards achieving inclusive growth.

The Queen, during a meeting with Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor Atiur Rahman, recollected her meeting with Sheikh Hasina in last September, and highly praised her drive for inclusive growth.

The meeting was held on Friday at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headquerters in Washington DC. Rahman is now in USA to attend the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings 2015, said a BB press rlease issued here on Sunday.

During the bilateral meeting, the Queen also referred to Sheikh Hasina's invitation for visiting Bangladesh, and said she would come to Dhaka early next year to see some of the innovations in the area of financial inclusion.

The Queen, also a special adviser of the UN secretary general on Financial Inclusion, praised the role of BB in promoting mobile financial services and other inclusive financial activities such as women empowerment and promotion of agriculture and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

BB governor praised her role in promoting financial inclusion and shared with her some of the interesting examples of Bangladesh.
