Dhaka: The government has announced a public holiday in Dhaka and Chittagong city corporation areas for Tuesday (28 April) because of elections.

A notification issued by the Public Administration Ministry on Sunday said all government, non-governmental, autonomous and private organisations in Dhaka and Chittagong city corporation areas will remain closed on the polling day on 28 April.

It says the decision was taken to enable people of the areas to exercise their franchise.
