Dhaka: There will be limited vehicular movement on Airport Road from Friday morning to Saturday morning to ensure the foolproof security during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit.

The western side (outgoing) of the Airport Road from Khilkhet to MunMun Kabab (Padma Oil) intersection will remain closed from 10:00am Friday to 10:00 am Saturday, while the eastern side (outgoing and incoming) of the same road will be kept open, DMP deputy commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman told UNB on Thursday.

Long-route buses and trucks have been asked to enter Dhaka using Beribadh-Majar Road/Gabtali Road from Abdullahpur and Dhaur, avoiding the airport road during the period, he said.

The Chinese President, now in Cambodia, arrives here on Friday morning.

President Abdul Hamid will receive his Chinese counterpart on his arrival at 11:40am at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
