Dhaka: A private car driver was killed as an elevator of a high-rise building carrying him fell to the ground at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Saturday.

The victim was as Nuru Miah, reportedly in his fifty.

Hospital sources said Nuru was critically injured when the lift of the building plunged to the ground after its ropes got snapped.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
