Dhaka: Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon on Thursday said the south city corporation will be made a service centre for people and it will be open to all.

‘The Dhaka South City Corporation will be a service centre for people and it’ll be open for all and I don’t want to see it from the perspective of party affiliation,’ he said.

Mayor Sayeed said this while talking to reporters after taking over the charge of the DSCC at Nagarbhanan at Gulistan.

Earlier, Nagarbhaban staff welcomed the new mayor with a bouquet as Khokon entered the office riding a traditional horse cart at about 10:00am.

Responding to a question about the deficit budget of the South City Corporation Khokon said, ‘I’ve also heard about it. We’ll take a decision about it after a meeting with high officials of the government as soon as possible.’

He said a dialogue will be arranged with people from all walks of life about DSCC’s problems.
