Dhaka: A convicted prisoner died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday morning.  

The deceased Jahangir Alam was a son of Dulal Khan, a resident of Kanchanpur village of Savar.

Jailer Nesar of Dhaka Central Jail said Jahangir fell sick in the morning.

Later, he was rushed to DMCH where on-duty doctors declared him dead at about 8:10am.

Jahangir was awarded to six months’ imprisonment by a mobile court in a case under the Narcotics Control Act, the jailer added.
