Justice JN Deb Chowdhury passes away
Dhaka: Justice JN Deb Chowdhury, a judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, passed away at a private clinic in the capital on Thursday afternoon. He was 51.
Justice Deb, who had been suffering from cancer, breathed his last at about 4:45pm at Square Hospital Ltd.
He left behind his wife, a son and a daughter.
Sabbir Foyez, additional register (Justice and Administration) of High Court Division, said Chief Justice S K Sinha and justices of Appellate Division and HC division expressed deep shock at his death.
They also expressed sympathy to his bereaved family members.
The body will be taken to court premises on Friday around 8am.
According to the SC website, he was born on March 15, 1965. He obtained LLB from University of Chittagong. He got enrolled as advocate of the High Court Division on May 11, 1992 and the Appellate Division of the SC on November 4, 2001.
He was appointed as an additional judge of the HC Division on February 12, 2015.
