Journalist leaves country after receiving death threat
Dhaka: Journalist Humayun Reza said he left the country after receiving death threat from unidentified people.
Reza, who is also a poet, on Wednesday, told NTV Online he was getting threats from December last year. After receiving continuous threats he decided to leave the country and went to Australia along with his family.
Reza said he received several threats because of some of his articles related to the trail of war criminals.
Questioning whether he lodged complaint to police, the journalist said a lot of people were killed in the country even after filed general diaries (GD) over death threats.
Starting his career as a journalist in Ajker Kagoj, Humayun Reza worked for Bdnews24.com, Prothom Alo and other renowned news media organisations. Besides journalism, Reza also wrote books on poetry. He has three publications on poetry.
