Sylhet: A schoolgirl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree at Jaintapur in Sylhet on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was Priyanka Biswas, 14, daughter of Nipul Biswas of Chhailakhel village and a class VI student of Sharighat High School.

As is her daily routine, Priyanka left school at tiffin break around lunch time.  Later locals found her hanging from a tree beside her school, said the Headmaster Badiuzzaman.

She was rushed to the Jaintapur Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared her dead.

Officer in Charge of Jaintapur Model Police Station, Shafiul Kabir said they will carry investigate.
