Dhaka: A recently married couple was found hanged from a ceiling fan in a house at Anandanagar in the city’s Badda area on Sunday.

The deceased are Shamim, 20, a furniture shop employee and Rubi, 18.

Badda Police officer-in-charge Abdul Jalil said Shamim had an affair with Rubi and they got married on Wednesday.

As Shamim’s family did not accept the marriage, he went to her sister’s house at Anandanagar for staying there after the marriage.

On Sunday morning, the couple was found hanging from a fan in their room, said the OC.

The young couple might have committed suicide for family feud over their marriage, he said.

On information, Badda thana police recovered the bodies.
