Ramadan begins Sunday
Dhaka: The holy month of Ramadan will begin on Sunday in Bangladesh as the new moon was not sighted on Friday evening.
The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision in a meeting at its Islamic Foundation office this evening after reviewing reports on moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan.
More than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world will mark the month, during which believers abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sex from dawn until sunset.
