Dhaka: Awami League Dhaka city unit joint general secretary Hazi Mohammad Selim on Monday said ‘We are spending a lot of money for Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB), what are we getting from them? Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) shots our BGB men, detains them. Why can’t we make any resistance? Why can’t we shoot back? Isn’t our BGB strong enough?

Hazi Selim made the statements on the parliament during the second budget session on Monday.

The independent Member of Parliament Selim said ‘In one of the photos published in facebook, it has been found that BGB man Razzak has been kept handcuffed. This picture represents that the 16 crore people of the country are handcuffed, not Razzak only.’

‘Everyone knows that BGP members are involved in Yaba tablet and other drug dealings. They shot Biplob Kumar and detained Razzak but still we cannot do anything. We have a very friendly diplomatic policy. Then why can’t we do anything?   Does that mean we will receive bullets only’ said the lawmaker.

He also urged the authorities to take immediate steps to bring Razzak back soon.
