Rajon murder accused Kamrul held in Jeddah

Dhaka: Sylhet teenage boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon murder accused Kamrul Hasan was detained in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with cooperation of Bangladesh consulate in Jeddah on Monday.
Kamrul Hasan was brother of the main accused, Muhit Alam who was arrested earlier.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Rahmat Ullah said Bangladeshi expatriates caught Kamrul at about 8:00pm and handed him over to Saudi police.
He said steps will be taken to bring him back as soon as possible.
Assistant Inspector General (Media) of the Police Headquarters Nazrul Islam also confirmed the arrest.
Kamrul who is a Saudi expatriate fled to the Arab country after the murder of Rajon.
‘With this, a total of four people have so far been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder.
Muhit was arrested while trying to dump the body of Rajon on Wednesday, while Kamrul’s wife Lipi Begum, and cousin Ismail Hossain Abul, 32, were held on Monday.
Earlier on Monday immigration police inspector Khayrul Fazal said, the accused killer Kamrul Hasan left for Saudi Arabia on 10 July at about 2:00pm through a Bangladesh Biman flight from the Sylhet Osmani airport.
Kamrul Islam is the third accused in the FIR of the Rajon murder case.
The 13-year-old boy, Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city on 8 July.
He died of brain haemorrhage following the torture, said the autopsy report on Monday.
The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet.
The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused a widespread outcry.
