Shab-e-Qadr being observed
Dhaka: The holy Shab-e-Qadr, the night of blessings, is being observed across the country tonight (Tuesday night) with due solemnity.
The Holy Quran was revealed on this night to show mankind the path of worldly and eternal emancipation.
The night is better than 1,000 nights as the angels and the spirit descend therein by the permission of Almighty Allah with all decrees, according to the Holy Quran.
Muslim devotees started offering special prayers, reciting from the holy Quran, holding milad, zikr and other religious rituals at mosques and in their houses on this night, seeking divine blessings for the wellbeing of mankind.
A special munajat and waz mahfil was arranged at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital on the occasion.
Bangladesh Television (BTV), Bangladesh Betar and private TV channels and radio stations are airing special programmes while newspapers published articles, highlighting the significance of the night.
