Steps to end visa trading on cards: Minister
Dhaka: The government will soon take strict measures to bring an end to visa trading and nuisance of middlemen in emigration processes, said Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam on Tuesday.
He came up with the remarks at an exchange of views with the officials of the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET).
The minister also said steps will be taken to reduce the immigration cost.
Nurul Islam said the government will take proper initiatives to send more trained workers abroad as per demands of various countries.
He asked the BMET officials to remain alert so that no one faces any harassment while going abroad with job, warning of a stern action if otherwise.
BMET Director General Begum Shamsun Nahar was, among others, present at the meeting.
