Chittagong: A woman ready-made garment (RMG) worker was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in Kolsi Dighi area under Bondor thana of Chittagong on Saturday night.

The victim is Saheda Islam, in her twenties, hailed from Lakshmipur district. Saheda worked at an RMG factory at Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) and used to live with her husband in a rented house at Kolsi Dighi area under Bondor thana, said Bondor police officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Mohiuddin Selim.

Police recovered the body from her rented house at about 1.30pm when the locals informed the police of the matter as the house was under lock and key till this noon. Police suspect that her husband might have killed her as he has been absconding after keeping the house under lock and key since Saturday night.

Police is trying to discover the motive behind the killing and nab her husband, the OC added.
