Traffic movement remained halted on Tangail-Mymensingh highway after the incident.

On 15 September, one Rafikul Islam and his aides from Satutia village of Kalihati upazila assaulted a woman and her son after stripping them off.

Witnesses said, Local people brought out a protest procession today. When procession was heading towards the police station, police protested them and a clash took place.

At one point, police fired bullets and tear shells to control the situation. Twenty people were injured at that time. Two of them died at Kalihati Upazila Health Complex and Tangail Medical College Hospital. Another died while he was being taken to hospital.
