Gazipur: A 20 km tailback was created on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Kaliakoir, Gazipur on Sunday, inflicting immeasurable sufferings on home-bound people ahead of the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Witnesses said the tailback was created on the road from Shafipur to Mirzapur in the morning because of the flow of the cattle-laden trucks on the highway following the torrential rain of the last two days, leaving several thousand vehicles stranded.

Vehicles were seen moving bumper-to-bumper on the highway.
