Redmayne, Moore win Oscar
Hollywood, United States: Britain’s Eddie Redmayne won the best actor Oscar for his searing performance as astrophysicist Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything” and Julianne Moore won the best actress Oscar for her moving performance as a linguistics professor suffering from early onset Alzheimer's disease in "Still Alice" on Sunday.
Redmayne beat Steve Carell (“Foxcatcher”), Bradley Cooper (“American Sniper”), Benedict Cumberbatch (“The Imitation Game”) and Michael Keaton (“Birdman”).
Moore defeated France's Marion Cotillard ("Two Days, One Night"), American Reese Witherspoon ("Wild") and two actresses from Britain—Felicity Jones ("The Theory of Everything") and Rosamund Pike ("Gone Girl").
