The rumour goes that the script of Karan Johar’s next directorial project, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, demanded a lip-locked and passionate scene between the leading man Ranbir Kapoor and the actress playing the senior actress in the film —  Ranbir also romances Anushka Sharma in the film.

‘But when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stepped into the part, there was some concern about the love scene’, reported the Daily News and Analysis.

‘Although Ash has done a kissing scene in Dhoom:2, with Hrithik Roshan, after she got married, she isn’t comfortable doing it now. She made her reservations known to director KJo.’

‘Given his relationship with the Bachchan family, he didn’t want any awkwardness and agreed to shoot the scene in such a way that it would not involve an actual liplock. He will now also shoot the intimate scene in such a way that there is no skin-show by the actress.’

‘Aishwarya has reached a stage where she wants to do meaty roles. She wants to do roles with substance. Anyway such scenes are better suited to the youngsters. She has done that in the beginning of her career and she doesn’t like to be repetitive’, said a source close to the actress.

‘So now, you won’t see a liplock between Ranbir and ARB.’

Karan Johar was not available for comment.

In India, the latest instalment of the 007 franchise, Spectre, was released with heavy cuts after censors deemed the romantic encounters between Daniel Craig, and co-stars Monica Belluci and Lea Seydoux, inappropriate for the viewing public.

The committee which was to certify the film thought some of the kissing scenes were too long, and asked Sony Pictures cut the kissing scenes by 50 per cent.
