Bollywood film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavati has been mired in controversies since the beginning. With the violent outrage of Rajasthan’s Karni Sena without even watching the movie or reading the script, things have turned turbulent on multiple occasions.

The 54-year-old was attacked in Jaipur and later, the film’s sets were vandalised and set on fire in Kolhapur? Well, in another horrific incident, an artist’s 48 hours of hard work was wrecked in less than a minute, reports the Indian Express.

In an unfortunate event in Surat, Gujarat, artist Karan K’s spectacular rangoli of Padmavati was destroyed by a group of 100 people shouting ‘Jai Shree Ram’. Karan was creating the beautiful art work ahead of Diwali after being inspired by the movie trailer and snippets. Little did he know that this would irk those against the release of the film.

Such incidents are distressing, given that people have so far loved the trailer, teasers and posters of the film, which promises to be the grand cinema that comes with the signature opulence one expects from Bhansali.
