While International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has taken a call and banned Ravi Jadhav’s Nude from being screened in spite of being cleared by the jury, the makers now have released the trailer of the film and it surely promises another jewel in director Ravi Jadhav’s hat.

Nude is a Marathi film which showcases woman empowerment and throws light on the topic which many hush away from talking.

The film also features Naseeruddin Shah and it guarantees cinematic brilliance. Check out the trailer, reports the Zoom.

Talking about IFFI’s decision to not showcase the film, director Ravi Jadhav had said, ’I didn’t know until I read the story.

#ZEE has always stood for women empowerment & has applauded their priceless contribution. @ZEEStudios_’ film ‘Nude’ is our latest effort in this direction. For all those who’re wondering what is it all about. Here’s a preview.. As Shakespeare said, “What’s in a name?” pic.twitter.com/3UuYjVwhrt

I am really disappointed, and I am 100 per cent sure that they [the ministry officials] have not seen the film and have merely gone by its title. We have handled the subject aesthetically and sensitively.’

Ravi had also gone ahead and tweeted, ‘Very very sad & disappointing...’

Nude is a story of a woman who works as the model in an art school without the knowledge of her family. Ravi has taken inspiration from his life as he studied at JJ School Of Art, Fort, Mumbai.

While Jadhav was disappointed with the decision of the ministry he also felt that the jury’s decision about the selected films wasn’t being respected.

He said, ’Jury members spent a lot of time and effort on watching hundreds of films before making their selection. What should I do the next time – should I send my film directly to the ministry?’

He further added, ‘Just like medical students need bodies for post-mortems, art students need nude models for studying painting.

Nude models and nude paintings have existed since ages. This movie is about one such woman, who cannot tell her family what she is doing but needs to work to bring up her son. I have handled the subject responsibly.

I am a father of two kids, and I want them to watch the film too. I also have great respect for these models.’
