Shilpa Saklani was among 86 people who tested positive for drugs in her system at a high-profile rave party in a plush hotel in suburban Juhu in May 2012.

Son of former Union cabinet minister Pramod Mahajan, Rahul Mahajan, who participated in 'Bigg Boss Season 2', hit the headlines for his excessive drug abuse, especially cocaine. He was also accused of consuming and distributing drugs at his father's residence in a late-night party in June 2006.

Celebrity DJ Aqeel was allgedly caught in 2007 with ecstasy tablets in his bag at the international airport in Dubai. However, his lawyer said, ‘Aqeel was honourably discharged by the prosecutor (the Indian equivalent of Magistrate) as there was no sustainable evidence against him’.

Actor Vijay Raaz was held in Dubai for possessing drugs (charas) in February 2005. Raaz was quoted as saying that he was innocent and was made to sign papers given by Arabic speaking officials.

The Bangalore fashion designer, Prasad Bidappa was also caught a couple of years ago in Dubai, on drug-related charges, reports the Mid-Day.
